City Council to regularize salaries of 91 employees starting this month
As of this month, Brava City Council will be settling the salaries of 91 employees under the PCFR, with significant increases and the promise of a second phase for more than 90 workers, reinforcing wage justice and job stability in the municipality.
From this month onwards, the Brava City Council will be regularizing the salaries of 91 employees, as part of the implementation of the Positions, Functions and Remuneration Plan (PCFR). The announcement was made this afternoon by the mayor of the municipality, Amândio Brito, during a meeting with employees, held in the auditorium of the Eugénio Tavares Secondary School.
According to the mayor, the measure will have a direct and significant impact on the lives of workers and their families, pointing out that some employees will go from salaries of between 10 and 12 thousand escudos to around 19 thousand escudos a month. "This has a huge impact on the person's life and the life of their family," he said.
Amândio Brito explained that the regularization will allow the employees covered to reach a new salary level, guaranteeing greater professional stability and a more solid relationship with work, as they join a formal career in the municipal administration.
The mayor recalled that the application of the PCFR was initially scheduled for January 24, 2024, but stressed that the process requires several technical and administrative procedures, to be carried out gradually. "The PCFR is not just implemented. Progressive work is needed until the transitional nominative list is reached, always taking into account the financial capacity of the councils," he said, acknowledging the financial limitations faced by the municipality.
Despite these difficulties, he guaranteed that, after months of work, the Brava City Council now has the administrative, organizational and financial conditions to move forward with this first stage of the process.
The mayor also revealed that there is a second group, with more than 90 workers, that will be covered in a subsequent phase, as part of the regularization of precarious ties in the Public Administration. To this end, a new meeting is planned for next week.
"The work is already done. All that's missing is the socialization and the necessary liaison with government departments, so that everything runs smoothly and smoothly," he assured.
Amândio Brito concluded by saying that the municipality is entering 2026 with the aim of restoring pay and employment justice, believing that this measure will reinforce the motivation, sense of justice and commitment of employees in the performance of their duties.
